What is different about SXSW now.
SXSW 2027 runs March 15–21 in Austin. With the Austin Convention Center closed for reconstruction, the festival operates as a campus-style event across venues in and around downtown rather than from a single hub. For 2027, film and TV screenings include ACL Live at The Moody Theater, the State Theatre and Violet Crown, among others, according to the festival.
That spreads attendees across more of downtown and changes the shape of the trip: instead of one big destination, you are moving between several. The festival has said it runs a complimentary shuttle for badge holders; a chauffeur is the complement to that, not a replacement, for when timing, luggage, a client or a late night is the constraint.
