In brief.
- Rideshare and taxis are the flexible, no-planning options; price and wait vary with demand.
- Shuttles and transit trade speed for lower cost.
- A pre-booked car fixes the price and the pickup in advance, which matters most for late arrivals, groups and business travel.
Rideshare
Apps are the default for many travellers. You request after landing and wait for a driver. It suits solo travellers with light luggage and no hard deadline. The trade-offs: price can rise sharply at busy times, and the vehicle and the driver are whatever is available.
Taxi
Taxis queue at the airport and need no app or booking. Useful if your phone is dead or you simply want to walk to the front of a queue. Ask about the fare method before you set off.
Shared shuttle
Shared vans run set routes for a per-seat price. Good value for solo travellers heading to a common destination, less so if you are in a hurry, since other riders' stops come first.
Public transit
Capital Metro operates bus service to the airport. It is the lowest-cost option, and workable with light bags and flexible time. It is a poor fit for a late-night arrival or a tight schedule. Check current routes and times with Capital Metro.
A pre-booked car and chauffeur
With a pre-arranged airport car service the vehicle is reserved before you travel and the chauffeur is expecting you. That removes the wait-and-see of the other options and is the usual choice for groups, family travel, executives and anyone arriving late. It costs more than a bus or shared van.
